Kingdom

Mark 1:15 - "The time has come," he said. "The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news!"

Jesus says the kingdom is near. Have you ever played Marco Polo? Ever played hot or cold? You are getting closer and closer.

The kingdom is near! You can't have a kingdom without a King. If the kingdom is near, the King is near as well. Do you have a King? A King makes the laws. The entire kingdom belongs to him. The subjects manage and serve the King. Are you ready to live in a kingdom? Are you ready to have a King?

Jesus declares that living under our own rule is about to end. There is a kingdom coming, and the King comes with it! We are blessed to belong to a different kingdom then this world, with a different expectation. We belong to an eternal kingdom, one that overcomes death and sin. Praise God!

Pray for Zagreb

zagreb1Zagreb is the capital of Croatia, with a population of 900,000 people. It is located in the northwest part of Croatia, on the banks of the Sava river. Zagreb is the political and economic center of Croatia, and contains almost ¼ of the Croatian population.

Zagreb's numerous museums reflect the history, art and culture not only of Zagreb and Croatia, but also of Europe and the world. Around thirty collections in museums and galleries comprise more than 3.6 million various exhibits, excluding church and private collections.

Zagreb is also University City. Founded in 1669, the University of Zagreb is the oldest in Croatia and one of the largest and oldest universities in Southeastern Europe. The university has been continually growing and developing, and now consists of 28 faculties, three art academies, the Teacher Academy and the Croatian Studies Center.

The Zagreb church is a congregation of 68 disciples, including 36 singles, 32 marrieds and 18 children. The church was planted in 1996 by Croatian disciples living abroad in numerous cities in the world. The church has been blessed with many talents and capable people to preach the word.zagreb2

We currently have two couples working full-time serving Zagreb and the surrounding region including Sarajevo, Belgrade, Ljubljana and Macedonia. We are going thru a transition from a church of students and singles to a more mature church that consists of different ages, priorities and needs. Our challenge is to stay hot for God and His Word as we make this transition.

We need prayers for our unity to be like one, so we can be a light to a nation that promotes individualism and separation in relationships. Another need is that we can have more faith in evangelizing our city and country, as Zagreb church is the largest church in the region. We pray that we can live sacrificially and have a great impact for God in our city.
