It's What We All Really Want! Mark 1:5 - The whole Judean countryside and all the people of Jerusalem went out to him. Confessing their sins, they were baptized by him in the Jordan River. The whole Judean countryside went out to Jesus! Really? All the people of Jerusalem? Wow! So many people wanted to get right with God! I think we have low expectations when it comes to believing others want to be right with their maker. Many people came out to hear John. They confessed, "agreed with" or "acknowledged" that they had sinned or "missed the mark." Most Jews familiar with their history and the Old Testament scriptures knew they had fallen short of God's demands.
Their willingness to be baptized was an admission of their history of disobedience, and an expression of their heart to turn back to God. Let us believe that God is always working on His creation. If we shout in the desert, people will come! Pray for Berlin, Germany Welcome to Berlin, the capital city of Germany and one of its 16 states. With a population of 3.4 million people, Berlin is Germany's largest city. It is the second-largest city and the eighth-largest metropolitan area in the EU, comprising 5 million people from over 190 nations.
Berliner Gemeinde Christi (Berlin Church of Christ) The Berlin church had a "campus infusion" in the summer 2009, consisting of 12 students from Boston. As a result, the student ministry has once again become known for their faith and zeal, and they have just had their first baptism in more than six years! There are many studies going on, which will lay a new foundation for the future of the campus ministry. Berlin is hosting a conference in May for the Euro campus ministries, with speakers from Milan, Boston and the Nordics. Their goal is to maintain the momentum, and plans are underway for a follow-up campaign in Berlin this coming summer. Please pray that God will continue the great work that has begun on the campuses of Berlin!
