Month for World Missions
Welcome to our IMS Mission Month Blog! Each day this month we will be focusing on a different city in the mission field that God has given us. We pray this will draw each one of us closer to God and to each other, and will help to broaden our vision for the incredible task that God has given us.
Matthew 28:18-20 - Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
Wow! Our task is to take the Gospel to every nation in the world. Jesus puts forward a conditional statement--he calls us as his people to do his will, to take the gospel to all nations, and to teach others to obey everything he has commanded us.
Noah had to build a boat. Moses had to lead about 2 million people. What about us? We need to reach 6 billion people! Hmmm . . . I always thought Noah and Moses had it tough. Our task to reach a lost world actually seems like a call higher!
Thus the reason--God does not just tell us what to do, but decides to join us, by moving into our hearts!
This blog is an attempt to connect us personally with the souls that can be influenced by each one of us directly, through prayer and sacrifice! Join in with the International Mission Society and through this blog--have an international eternal impact!
On some days this month, we will study out Mark, seeing the steps Jesus took in the beginning of his missionary journey. We will look for inspiration from Jesus' life and words. We will also highlight a city where we have brothers and sisters, or cities we hope to reach in the future.
Join us in prayer for these cities! May God do miracles and open hearts and doors! Thank you for your heart for missions and lost souls worldwide!See you tomorrow . . .
